What I do, and where I learned it

I lead enterprise applications: NetSuite, the integrations and EDI around it, and the systems work that keeps a business running on one set of numbers. Here is the core of what I do, the operating background it is built on, and the roles along the way.

Core capabilities

Enterprise Applications & NetSuite

NetSuite Administrator Professional certified, and years of living inside the platform: owning it, leading implementations, and building the integrations that wire it into everything else a business runs on. The work I care about is the unglamorous part, getting finance, sales, and operations onto one set of numbers instead of five spreadsheets that disagree.

Systems Integration & EDI

Getting systems to actually talk to each other. Mapping data between platforms, building and maintaining the connections through Boomi, and working through the edge cases and business logic that decide whether an integration holds up or quietly breaks six months later. EDI is part of that: trading-partner transactions have to land clean, because a bad map shows up as a wrong invoice, not an error message.

Mergers & Acquisitions (Systems Side)

When companies combine, their systems have to combine too, and that is where deals quietly succeed or stall. Post-merger systems integration and the ERP and data migration underneath it: reconciling two charts of accounts, two item masters, and two ways of doing the same job into one source of truth, without dropping the business while it happens.

AI & Automation

Practical AI applied to real operations: automating the busywork, prototyping faster, and making integrations smarter, with a person checking the work before it ships. This site is a working example, built and maintained that way.

Operating background

International Trade & Logistics

Ran international shipping operations end to end: carriers and routing, customs and compliance including ISF 10+2 import filings, and overseas sourcing. A lot of it during the COVID supply-chain chaos, keeping goods moving when lead times, costs, and routes were all moving targets at once.

Operations Leadership

More than fifteen years at a glass materials and equipment company, six of them as general manager and its NetSuite administrator, owning sourcing and purchasing, operations, sales, and deep product knowledge of the gear. Running a real business, with a loyal community around it, taught me more about systems and people than any software ever could.

Roles

Director of Enterprise Applications

A fuel distributor

  • Owns NetSuite and the integrations, EDI, and automation around it.
  • Led post-merger systems integration: moved an acquired company’s warehouse, lubricants manufacturing, fuel sales, and EDI trading partners off a legacy ERP into NetSuite in phased cutovers, with no customer, partner, or close impact.

NetSuite & Applications Manager

The same fuel distributor

  • Owned NetSuite administration and the integration layer across finance and operations.
  • Cut order-processing time 63% through NetSuite automation and integration.

General Manager & NetSuite Administrator

Six years as GM, within a tenure of more than fifteen

A glass materials and equipment company

  • Ran the business end to end: sourcing and purchasing, operations, sales, and fulfillment.
  • Administered NetSuite and ran international shipping and customs, including ISF 10+2 import filings.

Certifications

  • NetSuite Administrator Professional (Oracle NetSuite)

I also design and build fast, search-friendly websites. This one is the example: Astro, tuned for speed, structured data throughout, and AI-assisted from first draft to deploy.

The dated timeline is on LinkedIn, and there is more about how I work on the about page.
